Detroit City FC goalkeeper Carlos Herrera has been named the 2026 Golden Glove, awarded annually to the league's best goalkeeper, the United Soccer League announced on Monday, Oct. 26.
Herrera, who in part helped DCFC reach the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference after going 14-9-7, totaled 55 saves over the regular season.

His 14 clean sheets and 0.63 goal average are among the highest across the league.
“It speaks to the level of togetherness of this group because as much as it is an individual award given to the player, I believe that I would have never done that without the entire group, the staff, everyone, so, it's a reflection of who we are as a team. Being focused for every single game.” Herrera said in a statement. “Every single minute.
Every single play.”
Herrera is the first DCFC player to be honored with an individual award since 2022, when Antoine Hoppenot was named the league’s assists champion.
DCFC will take on Hartford Athletic at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. This will be only the second home playoff match in DCFC's USL history.
