Troopers were dispatched to the 7300 block of Croton Hardy Drive, not far from the Croton Dam Pond, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sept. 21 after workers digging

the foundation of a new home uncovered the remains.

"Troopers responded to the scene and contacted the Western Michigan University Medical Examiner’s Office, which took custody of the remains for further examination," a news release from MSP said.

Newaygo County is approximately 43 miles northeast of Muskegon.
