Southeast Michigan skies are beginning to clear after a wet, thunderous start to the week Monday morning, Aug. 10, according to the National Weather Service.
The early morning hours saw rain and thunderstorms pass over the state, with rumbles of thunder and overcast skies continuing into the morning commute hours.
Conditions are expected to be dry and mostly sunny the rest of the day, with highs in the upper 80s, per the Detroit/Pontiac NWS office's forecast. Expect a chance of rain and thunderstorms to return overnight into the early hours of Tuesday, Aug. 11, the weather service said.

While Wednesday, Aug. 12 is expected to start out sunny and dry, the forecast again calls for a chance of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours, before clearing by late this week.
