Michigan football has a number of familiar names listed on its availability report heading into a pivotal showdown.
The Wolverines (4-2, 1-2 Big Ten) have six starters listed as "questionable" ahead of their Week 8 matchup with No. 6 Indiana (6-1, 3-1), per the team's report provided to the Big Ten on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Offensive linemen Jake Guarnera, Blake Frazier and Brady Norton, defensive linemen Dominic Nichols and Enow Etta and safety Rod Moore are all among those whose status is in question for the upcoming game.
Frazier, Guarnera and Norton were all listed on last week's report and Norton, who usually starts at right guard, missed the game. Avery Gach filled in for him in for his first career start (not counting as a swing tackle) while
Guarnera was listed as a game-time decision but was able to gut through U-M's 21-18 victory over Penn State.
"It was always impressive to see a guy who's hurting just keep playing no matter what," guard Nathan Efobi said earlier this week. "Just not backing down."
Nichols has been listed on the report for the past month, but has yet to miss time. Etta, who recovered a fumble last weekend and has been perhaps U-M's best defensive tackle this season, is a new addition to the list. Moore, meanwhile, who had his first interception of the season last week, left the game following the diving catch and went to the medical tent before being carted up the tunnel.
Moore missed the entirety of the 2024 season with a torn ACL and the majority of 2025 as he worked his way back from the injury. This, on surface, appears unrelated to what kept him out of all but three games the past two years.
"Should be OK. It's nothing major," coach Kyle Whittingham said after the game. "When I say OK, will he be ready for the next game? That's debatable. But it's nothing that's long-term."
Tackle Andrew Sprague is once again out, linebacker Aisea Moa is questionable and tackle Andrew Babalola, who suited up for his first game last week but has not seen action in his 1½ years in Ann Arbor, is listed as probable.
Indiana, meanwhile, didn't have a single player listed on the report.
