Fans of Detroit’s iconic Dutch Girl Donuts will have another location to get its famous doughnuts.
Dutch Girl’s second location in a historic building is set to open Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Detroit’s North
End, according to an Instagram post.
Earlier this year, Dutch Girl owner Paddy Lynch announced the purchase of the historic building, known as the Howrani Studios building. On East Grand Boulevard in Detroit’s North End and adjacent to New Center, Lynch announced that the longtime, family-owned photography studio would become home to a second location for Dutch Girl Donuts.

Products at the new Dutch Girl will be supplied by the Woodward and Seven Mile location. The new location's hours are 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday for doughnuts and coffee.
Plans for the overall space, the Free Press reported earlier this year, include a portion of the building available for private parties and special events as well as continuing to house Ara Howrani and the family’s photography business. Late award-winning Detroit photographer Ameen Howrani had owned the business since 1965.
A beloved Detroit institution since 1947, Lynch bought the original Dutch Girl Donuts on Woodward in late 2023, which was operated by the Timmer family for three generations. In May 2024, after remodeling, he reopened the iconic doughnut shop with the blue awning at 19000 Woodward Ave. Lynch is a third-generation funeral director with the family-owned and operated Lynch and Sons Funeral Directors. He also owns the Schvitz Health Club in Detroit and, in 2025, Lynch bought the Dakota Inn Rathskeller, both in Detroit.
