Three people were killed and four more were wounded in a Sept. 27 shooting at an after hours strip club at a home on Detroit's west side, police said.
"A fight occurred, an altercation occurred and as a result, individuals decided to settle it with gun violence," Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison said at a late morning news conference. Police received a 911 call at 7:22 a.m.
Bettison said the men who died were in their 30s. Four more — two men and two women — went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident took place on Prest near Eaton.
Bettison said the address was known to the Detroit Police Department, which had received seven calls to the address this year.
"I'm being told that it was an after hours location," Bettison
said. "Imagine a strip club .. and I'll leave it at that."
He said there is no threat to the public.
Mayor Mary Sheffield called the shooting "heartbreaking" and said the city will crack down on illegal, after hours clubs in homes or businesses.
