Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff teared up when talking about the death of Cindy Miller, the wife of Lions radio play-by-play announcer Dan Miller.
After the Lions' 45-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, Goff was asked by Fox Sports about Miller's absence for this game and started to get choked up.
"Yeah, we're thinking about Dan," Goff started to say as he fought back some tears. "Yeah, sorry. We're thinking about you, Dan. Love you, man.
When asked what Dan Miller means to the team, Goff said Miller is "an important piece of the culture here."
"His voice is Lions football and he means a lot to us, he's apart of our family and I talk to him weekly and I know he's in our hearts right now and all of our prayers," Goff said.

Tigers play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti filled in on the radio for Miller, who has been the Lions' play-by-play announcer since 2005 and is also the sports director at WJBK-TV (Fox-2).
"We are without a very important member of this crew for the worst possible reason," Benetti said on the pregame show. "Our thoughts are with Dan right now, all weekend and for the future with the loss of his wife Cindy, a couple of days ago. ...
"One of the most sincere human beings you can possibly dream of, a fantastic voice of the Lions for more than two decades, and its very hard to have him be at home under these circumstances."
Dan and Cindy Millers have four children.
