Southeast Michigan is in for a hot and muggy stretch this week, with temperatures approaching the 90s and chances for showers and thunderstorms nearly every day.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the entire Thumb region. In southeast Michigan, warmer temperatures and increased humidity are expected during the early to middle part of this week.
Multiple rounds of showers are expected Sunday, Aug. 30 into Monday, Aug. 31, with isolated thunderstorms possible. The Sunday storms are expected to remain below severe levels, but could produce locally heavy rainfall.
"The best chance of greater thunderstorm coverage and heavy rain along and north of a line from Midland to Port Huron," according to the NWS. "A localized
swath of 2 to near 4 inches of rainfall will be possible across the Thumb bringing potential for flooding of low lying prone areas."

Monday, Aug. 31 weather forecast
Showers and thunderstorms remain possible Monday as multiple rounds of rain move through the metro Detroit region.
Morning lows are expected to range from 64 to 71 degrees, with afternoon highs between 84 and 89 degrees. The chance of storms ranges from 40-70%.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible mainly along and north of I-69 early Monday, potentially leading to localized flooding.
Tuesday, Sept. 1 weather forecast
Temperatures are expected to climb Tuesday with warmer and more humid conditions.
Morning lows will range from 68 to 75 degrees, while highs are forecast between 87 and 92 degrees. The NWS forecasts a 20-30% chance of storms.
Wednesday, Sept. 2 weather forecast
Wednesday could be the hottest day of the stretch, with highs ranging from 87 to 94 degrees.
Morning temperatures are expected to range from 68 to 75 degrees. The chance of showers and thunderstorms is 30-40%.
Thursday, Sept. 3 weather forecast
Temperatures are expected to somewhat ease Thursday, though another chance of storms remains.
Morning lows will range from 64 to 73 degrees, with highs between 80 and 88 degrees. There is a 30-40% chance of storms.
