The Detroit Lions may be looking at a big-time trade.

Per an ESPN report, the Lions are one of "a handful of teams" asking about a potential trade package for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Reporter Adam Schefter writes that the Steelers would want a "strong compensation package" for Porter, who has been seeking a new contract with Pittsburgh.

The son of former NFL linebacker Joey Porter, the fourth-year cornerback from Penn State hasn't played this season as he rehabs from a back injury. Another team Schefter names in the report is the Dallas Cowboys, who are 1-1 so far this season.

Detroit is in desperate need of help in its secondary, with the team still without safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph. Additionally, defensive

back Avonte Maddox is out for the rest of the season with a foot injury, and the Lions could be without safety Thomas Harper for Week 3.

The Lions have given up an average of 310.5 passing yards per game through two games, which is the second-highest total in the NFL behind the Indianapolis Colts.
