Whiskey, music from local bands and the aroma of barbecue will be plentiful this weekend in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood.
The Pig & Whiskey Corktown, a popular event previously held in downtown Ferndale as Pig & Whiskey, is a three day outdoor event that kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, July 31.
The event, a collaboration between Corktown’s Lager House and Ferndale's The Loving Touch,will take place in a two-block area on Michigan Avenue around the Lager House and a nearby parking lot. The Lager House will be serving a menu of barbecue items from its smoker.
Food trucks including Table No. 2 from Omar Mitchell, Mr. Pitmaster from Cornell Sample and offerings from Smoke Ring BBQ will be on site. Vendor Chocolate Drizzle will be selling sweet treats.
Events will also take place inside and outside of the Brooklyn Detroit on Beech Street. The Brooklyn is where event visitors will find more than 100 whiskeys available for purchase as tastings and/or drinks as well as a full bar with beer and other cocktails.
