As it was approaching Flint's airport, a small plane made an emergency landing Saturday, Oct. 10, on the shoulder of a highway in Flint Township
that left no injuries or vehicles damaged, according to police.
"This afternoon a single engine plane operated by a solo pilot was making a descent towards Bishop Airport. After a mechanical failure the engine stalled, and the pilot was able to land the plane on the shoulder of I-69 near I-75," an Oct. 10 post from Flint Township police states. "Flint Township police investigators are working with the (Federal Aviation Administration) and authorities at Bishop Airport."

The incident shut down some highway lanes at the scene, according to WNEM.
One driver captured the plane hovering above the traffic before the landing. "Oh my God, is this plane about to land on the (expletive) highway?" the driver asks.
"A plane landed on the highway!" she shouts.
