A man was attacked on Sunday, Sept. 27, in downtown Detroit, according to Detroit Police Department spokesperson LaToya Peacock.
Officers were dispatched to Woodward and Adams at approximately 2:26 p.m. to treat a victim suffering from a head wound.
He was treated by medics on scene.
Officers say they arrested a man in connection to the incident. He was taken to the Detroit Detention Center.
The assault comes after the killing of Jaquoya Wix, who was stabbed to death in the alley behind Chipotle on Woodward in downtown Detroit where she worked.
Wix was found stabbed several times and "bleeding profusely" on Sunday, Sept. 20, at about 2:30 p.m., officials say.
Police Chief Todd Bettison in a Thursday press conference said Detroiters can expect an increased
presence from the Detroit Police Department downtown.
