U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett, who is trying to win reelection in Michigan's most evenly divided congressional district, will get a visit from House Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Barrett's campaign said Johnson, R-Louisiana, would take part in an event in the Lansing area at 5 p.m. where endorsements from the Fraternal Order of Police and the Police Officers Association of Michigan were to be announced.
The event was to be held at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office in Mason.
Barrett, R-Charlotte, is running for election to a second two-year term against Lansing activist Will Lawrence, the Democratic nominee, in a closely fought race that could play a role in which party controls Congress next year.
