If you value hearing a naturally aspirated Formula 1 car above your own eardrums then the Red Bull Racing Showrun Michigan is the perfect event for you. The event was originally scheduled for July 18 but was postponed to July 25 due to air quality issues caused by the Canadian wildfires. The show was held at Parklane Towers in Dearborn, Michigan.
What is the Red Bull Racing Showrun?
While Red Bull is a popular energy drink, the company has a massive presence in motorsports. Over the years Red Bull has been very successful in Formula 1, DAKAR rally, MotoGP and many other types of racing. Red Bull would visit different cities taking race cars on the road doing burnouts, all while surrounded by fans who aren't charged to enter. At this event, there was Red Bull and Ford Racing merchandise
for sale, food trucks and, of course, plenty of the company's energy drinks being handed out.
Spectators surrounded a short makeshift track watching the cars go by. Each area of the track had designated areas for the cars to do the ever-popular burnouts on smoking and squealing tires.
What type of cars were on the track?
Oracle Red Bull and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls both had a Formula 1 car and they were arguably the most attention-grabbing vehicles there. Since F1 races are expensive and only three races a year are held in the United States, a lot of fans came to see these cars in action at a free event.
The car that may have been equally as appealing as the F1 cars was the Mustang GT3, which did a burnout so intense that pieces of the tire fell off and lay on the ground, smoking. Also, the Ford Raptor T1+ is meant for off-road racing but still was impressive on the course. The Ford F-150 Lightning Supertruck was fully electric but still made some noise that sounded like a spaceship. It has 2,200 horsepower and was the fastest car at the event. In between the action, motorcyclists popped wheelies on the track and performed other cool tricks best not tried at home.
