A new Sheetz is opening in Macomb County, this time in Macomb Township, with a grand opening set for Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The new 24-hour gas station and convenience store with made-to-order food will be at 50980 North Ave., near 23 Mile Road. The grand opening is 9-11 a.m. with giveaways, including Sheetz gift card drawings, according to an advisory from the company.
The township planning commission approved the location in June 2025, according to meeting minutes.
The Pennsylvania-based company continues to build across Michigan, particularly southeast Michigan. Sheetz entered Michigan in 2024 and expects to operate nearly 20 stores in the state by year-end, according to its website. In a 2025 release, the company said it planned to open 50-60
stores across southeast Michigan over the next five to six years. Prior Free Press reporting put that investment at $500 million.
Sheetz is in seven states and has 11 locations in Michigan, according to its website, five of them in Macomb County, and all in southeast Michigan.
Other Sheetz locations in Macomb County are planned, including one on Gratiot Avenue near Utica Road in Roseville, at the sites of former Sacred Heart Catholic Churchand former Apple Annie's Kitchen & Bakery restaurant, as well as a third location in Warren, where the City Council currently has a moratorium on new gas stationsand car washes.
