A 62-year-old Warren man died Sunday after he was struck by a car while teaching his 18-year-old daughter to drive, police said.
The crash happened about 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 in the 2400 block of Warner Avenue in Warren.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicated the man was instructing his daughter when she struck him with a 1998 Toyota Camry. The man was dragged a short distance, police said.
Warren police and firefighters responded to the scene. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The 18-year-old remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Police said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, and noted that evidence appears consistent with the daughter’s description of the incident.
The Warren Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
