Detroit City FC's home USL playoffs match now has a date and opponent.
DCFC will take on Hartford Athletic at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. This will be only the second home playoff match in DCFC's USL history.
DCFC enters the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference after going 14-9-7. The club played to a scoreless draw in its regular season finale Saturday against Louisville City FC.
The matchup with Hartford should prove to be a tough one, as DCFC lost 2-1 on May 9 and played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 5 in their two matchups this season.
The USL playoffs feature 16 teams, eight from each conference, in a single-elimination tournament to decide a champion. DCFC has two Round 1 exits and two quarterfinal
exits in its USL playoff history, with the team pulling off a 1-0 upset of top-seeded Louisville City FC in the 2025 playoffs before bowing out in the quarterfinals to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
