If you’re craving lobster, get ready to crack some claws in downtown Trenton on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19.For the last several years, Truago restaurant on W. Jefferson in the downriver community has hosted a huge outdoor, all-things-lobster event under a tent.
This year, Truago’s Lobsterpalooza partnered with sponsors including the City of Trenton DDA, All About Her Grace, and the Trenton Art Festival. The Trenton Art Festival takes place Saturday, Sept. 19, featuring art vendors with paintings to crafts.
For this year’s Lobsterpalooza event, Truago owner Jeremy Syrocki, who also owns several other downriver eateries, told the Free Press he is bringing in more than 500 whole Maine lobsters and 1,000 pounds of lobster meat.

Syrocki said, typically draws thousands of people for the two-day event. This year Syrocki expects more than 3,000 people.
The all-you-can-eat lobster buffet runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and is $39.99 per person. On the buffet are dishes like lobster mac and cheese, lobster pot pie and lobster ceviche. There will be a shrimp and crawfish boil plus lemon feta chicken, vegetables and rolls. Whole Maine lobsters and lobster rolls are available in addition to the buffet for $24.99 each.
This year there will be live music including headliner Big Shiny Tunes on Friday and Category 5 on Saturday. DJ TJ Monte is featured between sets.
Syrocki said that a portion of the proceeds this year are being donated to the Downriver Guidance Center.Truago restaurant is at 2775 W. Jefferson in downtown Trenton.
