Upsets dominated the latest round of our Stevie Wonder greatest songs tourney, as three top seeds went down swinging to set up the Final Four.
You can vote below on the four remaining contenders: "Superstition" takes on "Isn't She Lovely," while "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" is up against "For Once in My Life."
The Round of 8 produced some of the bracket’s tightest results yet, including a pair of No. 2 seeds edging out top-ranked songs: 1973’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” inched past 1970’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” with 51% of the vote, while 1976’s “Isn’t She Lovely” nudged out 1973’s “Higher Ground” with 52%.
The lowest surviving seed is the 1968 Hitsville-era classic “For Once in My Life,” a No. 3 ranked entry, which toppled
1976’s mighty “Sir Duke” with 58% of the vote.
“Superstition,” a No. 1 seed that has sailed through every round so far, bested “Living for the City,” 62% to 38%.
When the Free Press launched the project in September, we started with a 64-song bracket. We’ll get to the championship round when Final Four voting wraps up at noon Saturday, Oct. 24. Cast your votes below — and you can listen to this Stevie playlist curated for the occasion.
