The future Ocala Buc-ee's has a new neighbor to the south.
A newly formed Ocala-based company called Buc 75 LLC has paid $1.675 million for land just south and east of the site of the new Buc-ee's, which is scheduled to open in 2029.
All of the land in question is in the southeast quadrant of the new interchange being built at Interstate 75 and Northwest 49th Street. That is north of U.S. 27 and south of State Road 326.
In 2023, Buc-ee's paid $8.62 million for more than 30 acres just east of I-75 at the new interchange, which is under construction.
On Oct. 20, according to a deed recorded with the court clerk, Buc 75 bought 23.35 acres directly south of the Buc-ee's property,
plus a portion of two other parcels just south and east of that main parcel.
Floyd S. Salser III and Harvey Vandeven, both of Ocala, are the listed managers for Buc 75, according to a state business record.
A representative for Buc 75 declined comment when contacted by the Star-Banner.
The seller of the land was Ocala-based JCC Mines LLC. Its manager is Julia A. Carter, according to a state business record.
The Star-Banner will report back once more is disclosed about the new owner's plans for the land.
