Ocala Police Department detectives are investigating the shooting of a man at a convenience store on Aug. 11.
Officers said they were notified about the shooting shortly before 5:30 p.m. at King's Food Mart, 149 SW Martin Luther King Ave., and rushed to the location.
Arriving on scene, they found a man who had been shot and provided life saving measures. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment, officials said.
The victim's name and age were not released by law enforcement. Authorities said the victim is an adult.
Detectives are interviewing people who may have witnessed the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing, police officials said.
At the location, crime scene technicians were dusting the front door for fingerprints,
and officers were examining a car that was parked on the store's property. The scene was roped off by yellow crime scene tape as officials gathered evidence.
