Taqueria El Charrorestaurant has opened in Ocala.
“We offer a taste of Mexico City,” said eatery manager Fidel Coyuch, who hails from the Mexico City area and moved here seven years ago.
The eatery, which has a mobile location on U.S. 27 in Williston, opened Aug. 17 at 119 S. Pine Ave., a site that once housed a Dairy Queen and other restaurants.
Coyuch said the leap up to a brick-and-mortar location in Ocala was prompted primarily by his customers.
“We have many customers coming from Ocala, Dunnellon, Hernando and other areas to our restaurant in Williston,” Coyuch said. Current plans are to maintain both locations.
Coyuch feels supportive customers will be the key to the restaurant’s success in Ocala.

favorites like tacos, enchiladas and burritos and more including sopes, a type of corn tortilla, and Quesabirria, a meat-and-melted-cheese dish.
The dishes are all made with fresh ingredients but the main element touted by the eatery is the “secret seasoning,” which harkens back to Mexico.
“There’s nothing like it,” said one of the restaurant staff members about the seasonings as he made preparations for the Ocala opening.
A recent visit to the mobile restaurant, 340 W. Noble Ave. (U.S. 27) in Williston found a steady stream of customers, even while traffic seemed light on the highway.
Customers Regina and Leo decided to dine at the outdoor tables adjacent to the food trailer. Regina found the quesadillas to be “really good” and Leo gave his burrito a “10 of 10” rating. Customer Gonzalo said the tacos are very good.
Israel Ramos of Dunnellon was out for a ride on his Royal Star motorcycle and spotted the eatery. He decided to try their burritos for a takeout meal.
