A woman trying to walk across Silver Springs Boulevard in downtown Ocala was hit and killed the morning of Oct. 12, according to the Ocala Police Department. Here's what we know:

According to the Ocala Police Department, the crash happened at Southwest Third Avenue and the boulevard.

About 7 a.m. Oct. 12.
What happened in the crash?
According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was trying to cross the boulevard near the Gulf (formerly RaceTrac) gas station. She was struck by an eastbound Chevy Camaro driven by a man.
Ocala Police are trying to notify the woman's family.
