Week 4 of the Florida high school football schedule around Ocala sees teams kick off district play, with a variety of stakes on the line.
The slate opens Thursday with Class 5A District 3 action as West Port hosts Buchholz, but the enticing game involves unbeaten Forest on Friday night playing host to Matanzas. Another win for the Wildcats could set up a showdown in two weeks with Buchholz in Gainesville.
In 4A District 5, Vanguard tries to get back on the wagon after a three-point loss in Tampa to Jesuit last week. The Knights' 1-2 record is deceiving; MaxPreps still ranks the in the top 55 in the state. Lake Weir, meanwhile, tries to move to 3-0 as it opens against Mount Dora in a battle of Hurricanes.

Dunnellon's revival continued last week with a shutout of West Port. It gets county rival North Marion in Week 4 to open 3A District 5 play. Belleview is still 2-1 and gets an Eastside team that is off from last year's highs in 2026.
In 2A District 4, Trinity Catholic has little room for error. The district only has three teams and they Irish play perennial state-title hopeful Bradford this week.
In non-district play, South Marion has a shot at win No. 1, taking on another winless squad in Hamilton County.
