SPRINGFIELD — An assault occurred inside Parkview High School football's locker room on Friday, Aug. 28.
Following Parkview’s 7-6 defeat to Reeds Spring, a Parkview player was stabbed by a fellow player in the team’s locker room.
According to a spokesperson at the Springfield Police Department, the juvenile player was arrested and accepted for detention at the Green County Juvenile Office.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The player is expected to fully recover.
In a message to the Parkview community, Princiapal Josh Lollis wrote that school police and administration intervened immediately.
“Because there is an ongoing police investigation related to this incident, there is very little information that
we can share,” Lollis wrote. “However, we want to assure you that safety remains our highest priority and that immediate and appropriate steps were taken in response.”
