A man was killed and two others injured after a crash at Glenstone Avenue and Chestnut Expressway on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Springfield Police Department officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday. According to an SPD news release, 79-year-old William Huey was turning left out of a parking lot in the 600 block of North Glenstone to go north on Glenstone when he was hit by Malik Waite, 23, driving southbound.
Huey died at the scene while Waite and a passenger in Huey's car were transported to the hospital.

This was Springfield's 13th fatal motor vehicle crash in 2026, that have killed 14 people.
