This week in 417 foodie news, a barbecue spot returns, a food truck goes up for sale and a speakeasy gets in the Halloween spirit. Plus, 7 Brew expands to another Ozarks town.
Barbecue spot re-opens after fire
Buckingham Smokehouse Bar-B-Q, 2002 S. Campbell Ave., re-opened on Oct. 9 and is serving the Springfield community once again. It's open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

About a month ago, a fire in the smoke pit on the west side of the building caused damage to the restaurant and it had to close.
"Thank you, Springfield, MO, for every share and comment this week. It means a lot to the whole crew," the restaurant posted Oct. 11 on Facebook.
The restaurant is known for its smoked meats, including a typical barbecue menu
of brisket, ribs, pulled pork and burnt ends, as well as custom orders like holiday turkeys and hams, whole pigs or fish.
Springfield food truck for sale
After a soured business partnership this summer followed by recent financial hardship, Bryson and Devan Head announced that they are selling their food truck, Yallternative Eats. Oct. 17 was set for the truck's final day.
In an Oct. 9 Facebook post, the Heads explained that the transmission in their family vehicle "has blown," which means they and their three children do not have reliable transportation.
"With everything we’ve faced this year, we’ve reached a point where we have to make an incredibly painful choice: sell the business we’ve worked so hard to build so we can purchase a dependable vehicle for our family. We never imagined it would come down to this," the Heads wrote. "Yallternative Eats has been so much more than a food trailer to us. It’s been years of hard work, late nights, sacrifices, creativity, and a whole lot of love. We’ve built something we’re genuinely proud of, and saying goodbye to it is absolutely heartbreaking."
They are offering interested parties the option to either purchase the whole brand and business or just purchase the food trailer.
Nixa Speakeasy debuts Halloween theme
The Whisper Mill at 14 Mill Market, 203 E. Mt. Vernon St. in Nixa, has transformed for the Halloween season with its new theme, "Carnival of Shadows."
The speakeasy tucked in the food hall has taken on a moody, spooky theme to make guests feel as if they're inside a haunted circus, complete with creepy clowns and curated cocktails.
Walk-ins are welcome based on availability. Reservations are available for $10 and include a guaranteed seat as well as a welcome cocktail, according to the speakeasy. For more information, or to make a reservation, visit 14millmarket.com/Speakeasy.
The Carnival of Shadows leaves town after Oct. 31.
