In southwest Missouri, the Nov. 3 ballot is long, including several constitutional questions, state races and a U.S. House race. Before casting a vote, there are several ways to be informed about candidates on the ballot and what each question means for the state's future.
The Informed Voter Coalition, a nonpartisan collaborative effort of 13 local organizations, hosted interviews with area candidates to allow voters to learn more about who is running for office. According to an IVC news release, each participating candidate was asked the same questions as others in their race and received equal time to respond. Questions were developed and reviewed to ensure neutrality, and candidates did not receive them in advance.
Video interviews are available
below and via YouTube playlist. The interviews will also be broadcast on KSMU and Ozarks Public Television.
Additionally, the League of Women Voters has a voter guide available online at Vote411.org. The platform allows voters to enter their address to see what will appear on their ballot, see how candidates answered questions and see more thorough explanations of ballot questions.
