Two people were taken to a hospital after a shooting near the north edge of Springfield on Tuesday, Aug. 25, while the suspect was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Greene County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting at Lakewood Mobile Home Park, in the 2700 block of North Farm Road 137, Tuesday morning. According to a GCSO news release, two victims were located with gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
The suspect was found dead at the scene with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Greene County detectives remain on scene and continue to investigate, but there is no known threat to the public at this time, according to the release.
