Fans will have an early opportunity to purchase tickets for The Ozark Mountain Daredevils' return to Springfield's Gillioz Theatre, with presales opening ahead of the band's 101st-anniversary performance at the historic venue on Oct. 8, 2027.
A presale for 26 Club members and members of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils Fan Club was scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 15, according to a community announcement, with public ticket sales starting at noon Oct. 16.
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils will perform with special guest Big Smith during the anniversary celebration, marking the band's first appearance at the theater in more than a decade.
The Missouri-based group formed in 1972 and gained national recognition with songs including "If You Wanna Get
To Heaven" and "Jackie Blue." Over more than 50 years, the band has blended country, rock and folk influences while maintaining strong ties to the Ozarks.
The concert also marks a reunion of two longtime regional acts that have shared stages throughout the years, including past performances at the Gillioz Theatre.
Return to a familiar stage
The announcement states that The Ozark Mountain Daredevils played the Gillioz during the theater's lengthy restoration period and have returned for multiple performances since then.
Band members have jokingly referred to themselves as the "Gillioz House Band," according to the announcement, a label the venue embraces because of the group's longstanding connection to the theater.
The Oct. 8, 2027, concert celebrates the Gillioz Theatre's 101st anniversary.
Big Smith joins anniversary lineup
Big Smith will open the show in what the announcement describes as a return of the band's original lineup.
The group, which began performing in 1996, has played intermittently during the past decade. Big Smith and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils have appeared together numerous times over the years, including previous performances on the Gillioz stage.
