The Down Syndrome Group of the Ozarks will launch Down Syndrome Awareness Month with a 5K Fun Run, Buddy Walk and community block party on Historic C-Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3.
The event is being organized in partnership with Upside Down Mercantile and the National Down Syndrome Society, according to a community announcement. Organizers said the gathering is intended to bring together people with Down syndrome, family members, friends and supporters for a morning focused on connection and celebration.

coworker or community supporter.
Organizers said the event will celebrate the abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome while creating opportunities for community engagement.

Following the 5K and Buddy Walk, attendees are invited to take part in a free block party on Historic C-Street.
According to the announcement, activities will include inflatables, games, food and family-focused entertainment.
