As the days grow cooler and the leaves begin to change, stock up on great reads at the Friends of the Library Fall 2026 Book Sale. Browse thousands of adult, young adult and children's books, plus most audiovisual materials, for $1 or less. Better books start at just $2.
Besides books, there is so much more. The sale includes hundreds of DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, games and puzzles. Children will enjoy browsing thousands of children’s books, early readers, graphic novels and young adult titles. There is something for everyone.
The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale is Sept. 16-20, 2026, at the E*Plex, Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave. Admission and parking are free.
Come early to snag the best bargains — items will go fast! The sale
kicks off with a Friends Night Preview Sale from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Friends members get in free; non-members can pay $5 (that night only) at the door to shop the special sale hours.
There’s no admission for the regular sale:
- 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 16-18.
- 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Half-Price Day, Sept. 19.
- 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Bag Day, Sept. 20. Everything you can jam in a sack is $1, or $5 from Better Books.
Friends accept cash or check only, and there is no tax. Bring a bag to take your treasures home.
Proceeds from the sale provide programs, author events, concerts and more at the Springfield-Greene County Libraries.
