Missouri entrepreneurs seeking to launch or grow a business will have an opportunity this fall to receive free training, coaching and business-planning support through an Early-Stage Business Boot Camp
offered by Show-Me Network.
The four-week program begins Sept. 28 and is open to aspiring business owners and entrepreneurs in the early stages of building a company, according to a community announcement.
Developed by the Missouri Small Business Development Center at Missouri State University, part of efactory, the boot camp is designed to introduce participants to business resources, connect them with experts and fellow entrepreneurs and provide instruction on core business topics.
Participants also will learn how to access ongoing one-on-one coaching and mentoring. Organizers said in the announcement that attendees should complete the program with a growth plan and financial budget.
“Starting a business can feel overwhelming when you’re doing it alone,” Nicki Donnelson, director of marketing and communications for Missouri State’s efactory, said in the announcement. “This boot camp condenses the knowledge entrepreneurs need into a focused, four-week series, then connects participants to what they need to succeed.”
Program covers business fundamentals
The series is intended for people considering entrepreneurship as well as those who have already started a business.
Supported by the U.S. Bank Foundation, the program will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 through Oct. 22 at Missouri State University’s efactory, 405 N. Jefferson Ave., Springfield.
Guest speakers and entrepreneurs will share experiences and insights covering multiple stages of the business lifecycle, according to the announcement.
Funding supports startup assistance
Show-Me Network programming is funded through the federal State Small Business Credit Initiative Technical Assistance program, administered in Missouri by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
According to the announcement, the initiative helps startups and small businesses become investment-ready and better positioned to access available capital programs.
