A pair of Drury Panthers earned Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athlete of the Week honors for the period of Oct. 5-11, with Katy Fitzler earning Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition, and Yuri Cabral picking up Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week laurels.

Fitzler, a senior goalkeeper from O'Fallon, Missouri, recorded two shutouts last week, totaling five saves across a 0-0 draw against Rockhurst and a 5-0 DU win at Upper Iowa. This marks the fourth GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honor of Fitzler's career and her second of the 2026 season.
With her two performances last week, Fitzler hiked her career total to 28 shutouts, which rank third in program history. The win at Upper Iowa was her 29th career victory, also the third-most
in program history.

Cabral netted his first weekly GLVC honor after spearheading a trio of Drury victories, in addition to breaking a pair of Missouri S&T pool records in the top-ranked Panthers’ season-opening competition. The senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil claimed the individual win and facility record in the 50 Free with his time of 19.87 as one of seven individual winners for the Panthers, who cruised to the 141-64 win over the Miners.
Cabral also eclipsed the previous S&T pool mark in the 100 Free as part of DU's 400 Free Relay win with his split of 43.69. He helped the Panthers to gold in the 400 Medley Relay as well, anchoring the win (3:20.84) with a time of 45.08.
