SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State head coach Casey Woods announced a season-ending injury during his weekly press conference on Monday, Aug. 31.
Missouri State is set to face No. 8 Texas A&M at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5. The Bears will be without fifth-year defensive tackle Malachi Madison for the season.
“Malachi Madison will be out for the season. He’s a guy that had a season-ending injury here in the last couple of weeks,” Woods said. “Sad for him. He’s a guy that we look forward to rehabbing and getting back together and hopefully, make another run at this.”
Madison transferred to Missouri State from UMass. He made seven
appearances for the Minutemen in 2025. The Chester, Virginia native started his career at Virginia Tech, where he played for three seasons.
Besides Madison, Woods shared that the team came out of fall camp ‘pretty quality healthy.’
