A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in south Springfield just before noon Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Springfield Police Department responded to the two-vehicle crash at 11:56 a.m. Wednesday at Republic Road and Quail Creek Avenue, according to an SPD news release.
Kaden Liffick, 19, was riding a 2013 Honda 600 motorcycle east on Republic and struck a 2024 GMC Canyon driven by Eric Maxwell, 49. According to the release, Maxwell was driving west and making a left turn onto Quail Creek.
Liffick was taken to a hospital, where he died. He was wearing a helmet.
The circumstances of the crash are part of an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information should contact

This was Springfield's 14th fatal motor vehicle crash in 2026, which have claimed a total of 15 lives.
