Springfield Lutheran High School marked the official launch of Thunder Thrift with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store's Sunshine Street location as the school expands a fundraising effort designed
to support its educational mission.

Thunder Thrift opened to shoppers in August. School officials said in the announcement that proceeds from the volunteer-run thrift store will provide ongoing financial support for Springfield Lutheran High School while creating another location for residents to shop and donate.
According to the announcement, the store's earnings help support the school's mission of partnering with families to develop students as disciples of Christ and scholars who serve others.
