Children ages 5 to 12 can swim, bike and run in the 22nd annual Kid’Athlon at Chesterfield Park and Family Center from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 12.
Registration is open through Sept. 10, according to a community
announcement. The mini-triathlon features age-appropriate distances, with participants receiving a T-shirt, medal and goodies.
The event is presented by Children’s Mercy with Mercy. Race organizers will use staggered check-in and start times, separate transition areas to reduce cross-traffic, a one-way bicycle route and one swimmer per lap lane.
Larger spectator areas also will be available. Parks staff will time the race.
How much does Kid’Athlon cost?
Registration costs $35 for one child. Each additional child from the same household costs $25.
