On March 10, 1948, first and second graders from the Shady Dell school performed at the annual meeting of Greene County school boards.
In a photo of the performance, published in the Leader & Press the same day, the 25 students held rhythm sticks, triangles, hand drums, bells, shakers, and sand blocks.
