SPRINGFIELD — There is some serious wide receiver talent in the Springfield area this fall. There are some Division I talented players along with emerging stars ready to make a name for themselves in 2026.
Here are 20 high school football wide receivers to watch for this season.
Trenton Allen, Clever
The junior is the top returning wide receiver target from a season ago. Allen caught a team-high 36 passes for 741 yards. He also caught eight passing touchdowns.
Zay Bousquet, Parkview
The senior caught 14 passes for 193 yards last season. He also caught one touchdown pass as his production is expected to increase this fall. Bousquet is also a standout linebacker and will be playing both sides of the ball.
Will Buckley, Kickapoo
The 6-foot-3 receiver returns for Kickapoo. Buckley earned an offer from Missouri Baptist, William Jewell, McPherson and Benedictine College during the offseason.

Jett Easley, Ozark
While he also shines at running back, Easley is also one of the area’s top receivers. He caught 40 passes for 632 yards in 2025. He also scored three touchdowns to lead Ozark’s offense.
Conner Fenske, Springfield Catholic
The senior is a standout baseball player who has already committed to Benedictine College. Last year, Penske was a third-team all-conference selection.
Trevor Heman, Glendale
The senior is one of the top returning wide receivers in the area. He caught 74 passes for 1,220 yards and nine touchdowns last year. Heman has earned several college offers during the offseason, including Dartmouth, SeMo and Missouri State.
Gage Hill, Fair Grove
The senior is coming off of a strong 2025 campaign where he caught 30 passes for 579 yards. He scored seven touchdowns to lead the offense, too. If Hill can improve upon these stats, Fair Grove’s offense will be in fine shape throughout the fall.
Josh Jefferson, Hillcrest
The senior has the capability to make big plays especially in the open field. Jefferson’s speed will be key in helping the Hornets move the chains on third down this fall.
Gage Hale, Logan-Rogersville
The junior had a breakout season last year as an underclassman. Hale caught 50 passes for 1,025 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was one of five players in Southwest Missouri to go over 1,000 yards receiver and have a doubled-digit touchdown mark.
Hendrix Haymes, Ozark
The 6-foot-6 senior committed to Lindenwood over the offseason. Haymes went for 178 yards and two touchdowns in 2025. He was an all-conference and all-district pick at the tight end position, too.
Cordell Lewis, Parkview
The senior was an all-region pick last season. He caught 38 passes for 508 yards. Lewis also found the end zone three times to help catapult Parkview’s offense.
Carter Mabe, Nixa
The senior is the top returning receiver for the Eagles. Mabe caught 21 passes for 457 yards last season. He also scored six touchdowns in 2025.
Carson Nestleroad, Monett
The senior was the top wide receiver in Southwest Missouri last year. He caught 93 passes for 1,324 yards, both marks were the best in the area. Nestleroad also caught 13 touchdowns, which tied for the most, too.
Case Steinbach, Marshfield
The senior is committed to play baseball at Crowder College. Last year, Steinbach was a top-20 receiver in the region. He caught 41 passes for 702 yards and seven touchdowns.
Brennan Overstreet, Republic
In the Tigers’ run-first offense, Overstreet will be the main receiving threat if a pass is called this season.
Maddox Phemister, Kickapoo
In a youthful roster, first-year head coach Bill Voorhis believes sophomore Phemister will be making key plays for Kickapoo this fall.
Mereck Putt, Ozark
The senior will try to improve upon last year’s stats to help Ozark stack more wins this year. Last season, Putt caught 27 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns. He earned scholarship offers over the offseason from William Jewell, Truman State, Benedictine and Southwest Baptist.
Joelle Rover, Glendale
The senior has offers from Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Northern Iowa and a host of Ivy League schools. Rover caught 46 passes for 1,017 yards and 11 touchdowns last year. He has at the home run threat ability, along with the precision to catch passes in traffic.
Brayden Seitz, Monett
The senior will be providing another fantastic option for Monett’s passing attack. Alongside Nestleroad, Seitz should feast like he did in 2025. He caught 61 passes for 829 yards and nine touchdowns.
Jonah Vescio, Willard
The junior is a big play threat for Willard this fall. Vescio will be called upon to be one of the team’s main targets this season as the Tigers try to improve upon last year’s 1-9 record.
