A Springfield woman has died after a two-vehicle crash on Sept. 2, according to a news release from the Springfield Police Department.
Tesia Ta, 34, died following a crash that left both Springfield drivers with life-threatening injuries in the city's 12th fatal motor vehicle crash this year.
SPD responded to the scene of the crash at 10:48 p.m. According to SPD, 27-year-old Kayle Moore of Springfield was driving an SUV east on Kearney Street. She had turned left into a business in the 400 block of east Kearney Street and drove into the path of Marquis Starks, 25, who was driving west in a Mercedes-Benz, and the two collided.
Both Moore and Starks were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Ta, who was a passenger in Moore's vehicle,
was also taken to a hospital, where she later died.
The SPD is still investigating the circumstances of the crash, but "speeding and impairment by Starks are suspected factors."
