Hidden recording device found in RIT dorm restroom
Deputies were notified last month by RIT's Public Safety Department about the discovery of a hidden recording device in a bathroom in a coed residence hall.
Evidence technicians from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office retrieved the device. Investigators then worked to determine who was responsible for the alleged unlawful recording and identify those who had been filmed, said Sgt. Brendan Hurley of the sheriff's office.

the device was set up in a residence hall restroom Wednesday, Sept. 16. It was discovered and reported to deputies two days later.

Bird, 19, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, was taken to the Monroe County Jail ahead of his arraignment in CAP Court, deputies said.
Investigation ongoing
The investigation remains ongoing, Hurley said.
