University of Rochester Medicine Thompson Health has scheduled six community flu clinics in the Finger Lakes, beginning Sept. 15 and continuing into October.
The flu vaccine will be given to those 9 and older. A high-dose flu vaccine, which contains additional antigen designed to create a stronger immune response, will be available for those 65 and older.
The first clinic is noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Thompson Health Canandaigua Urgent Care, 699 S. Main St., Canandaigua.
When are the other flu clinics in Finger Lakes?
Clinics will also be held in September from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Farmington Town Hall, 1000 County Road 8, Farmington; and 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Hopewell Fire Station No. 2, 4018 Routes 5 and 20, Canandaigua.
Three clincis will be offered in October:
3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Veterans Park, 6910 Routes 5 and 20, Bloomfield; 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Thompson Health Farmington Urgent Care, 1160 Corporate Drive, Farmington; and 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Thompson Health Newark Urgent Care, 800 W. Miller St., Newark.
How much do the flu shots cost in Finger Lakes?
The flu shots are free to patients with insurance. Patients must present an insurance card at the time of the visit.
The self-pay cost for those without insurance is $45, and $80 for the high-dose vaccine. Cash, check, MasterCard or Visa will be accepted.
