Meet the candidates for Greece Town Board
Greece Town Board, Ward 1
David DiPonzio, R, C (incumbent)

Age: 35
Residence: Greece
Family: Wife and four children
Current professional
role: Cybersecurity
Current or prior elected office: Current Town of Greece Board Member, Ward 1
Community involvement: Serves on the safety committee and building and grounds committee for the Holy Cross Church/School. Exempt member of the Lake Shore Fire Department.
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
The most important issue facing residents is maintaining the quality of life that makes Greece a great place to live, while keeping property taxes flat and being responsible with taxpayer dollars. We have more work to do when it comes to public safety and maintaining our neighborhoods. It is a battle we must continue to fight every day. Residents deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods and take pride in where they live. If re-elected, I will continue supporting our police department, addressing problem properties, improving our infrastructure, and making sure our neighborhoods are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
At the same time, I will continue to be a strong advocate for responsible spending and keeping property taxes flat. We need to make smart decisions with the resources we have and make sure taxpayers are getting the best possible value for their money. As a father of four children, I love bringing my kids to the many events and activities our town has to offer. I hear nothing but positive feedback from residents about the programs, events, and activities available to families and seniors. That is something we should be proud of and continue to build upon. My goal is to keep Greece safe, family-friendly, and well-maintained, a community where people are proud to call home.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
I have lived in the 1st Ward for 35 years; I have three years of Town Board experience and a record of showing up for my constituents. I've supported the senior property tax exemption increase, eliminated wasteful spending, and backed tough action on problem properties. I’m also a former volunteer firefighter, a father of four, and a 10-year union member ― five years with the Deputy Sheriffs Association and five with CSEA. I’m proud of my union background, and it’s part of why I’m a strong supporter of our police department and working Greece families. I believe public service is about showing up, listening to residents, and getting things done. I’ve worked hard to represent the people of Greece, and I’m asking voters for the opportunity to continue that work for another term.
Ryan McDonald, D, WF

Age: 40
Residence: Greece
Family: Wife and two children
Current professional role: Associate counsel for Rochester City School District and adjunct professor at RIT
Current or prior elected office: Former Greece Central School District Board of Education member
Community involvement: Rochester Teen Court, Monroe County Bar Association, Greater Finger Lakes Council BSA (formerly Seneca Waterways Council)
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
The most important issue facing Ward 1 is protecting and reinvesting in our established neighborhoods. Residents deserve safe streets, dependable town services, responsible use of their tax dollars, and infrastructure that keeps pace with the needs of our community. If elected, I would make regular office hours and direct communication with residents a priority, while advocating for a transparent plan that addresses roads, sidewalks, drainage, parks, access to public utilities, and other infrastructure needs.
I would also work with county and state officials when solving local problems requires cooperation beyond town government. At the same time, we need to strengthen our existing commercial areas and make responsible investments that support our neighborhoods and local economy and increase the tax base. Ward 1 deserves a representative who listens, follows through, and makes sure our neighborhoods receive the attention and investment they deserve.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
My family has been part of Greece since the 1930's. I was raised in Greece, and I’m now raising my family in Ward 1. I have a deep, personal connection to this community and an understanding of both its history and the challenges families face today.
My professional experience has also prepared me to serve. As an attorney, RIT professor, public-sector counsel, and former Greece Central School Board member, I’ve had to review budgets, deal with complicated issues, ask difficult questions, and make sure decisions are responsible and accountable. I would bring that experience to the Town Board, but just as importantly, I would remain accessible to the people I represent.
I believe good local government starts with listening, communicating honestly, and following through. My focus would be simple: Do the homework, ask the right questions, work with people even when we disagree, lead with humility, and keep the families and neighborhoods of Ward 1 at the center of every decision.
Greece Town Board, Ward 2
Spencer Bernard, R, C (incumbent)

Age: 36
Residence: Greece
Family: Wife and two children
Current professional role: Chief of staff for the Town of Pittsford
Current or prior elected office: Current Greece Town Board member, Ward 2
Community involvement: I stay involved by responding to residents, organizations and businesses of the 2nd Ward when they reach out for a problem or need for help.
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
What I hear most from residents is one overarching concern: Keeping our town safe, affordable, well-maintained and responsibly developed. Those priorities will continue to guide my work if re-elected.
We have made public safety a priority by hiring additional police officers, expanding police presence at our mall from 5 to 7 days a week and applying for funding for police-worn body cameras.
I will continue to be a responsible steward of your tax dollars while ensuring residents receive the municipal services they expect and deserve. We also need to invest in our aging infrastructure. The Town Board unanimously allocated $6 million for failing roads, sewers and sidewalks ― an important investment in our neighborhoods, where residents are facing flooding and deteriorating roads and sidewalks.
Residents also deserve a strong voice in development and environmental decisions. I will continue to scrutinize development that affects our neighborhoods, protect the green space we have left and encourage the redevelopment of existing vacant properties before taking additional land out of use.
My commitment is simple: Listen to residents, keep decisions close to our community and focus on what we can do locally to make our town safer, stronger and more affordable.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
I have shown that I can do the work ― and, just as importantly, I enjoy doing it.
I grew up working in my family’s restaurant in Greece, where I learned early that hard work, treating people with respect and providing good service matter. Those values have stayed with me throughout my career and they are the same values I bring to the Town Board: Listening to people, finding practical solutions, managing a budget responsibly and following through on commitments.
I also believe we have a responsibility to think about the future of our community and make decisions locally that will serve the people who live here today and for generations to come. I want to help build a town where seniors can age with dignity, families can raise their children in a safe and welcoming community and people can choose to retire and remain here for generations.
That means building a community that is safe, well-managed and prepared for the future while preserving the character, neighborhoods and values that make Greece a place people are proud to call home. I’d be honored to continue that work.
Frank Femia, D, WF

Age: 31
Residence: Greece
Family: Wife and a cat, Charles
Current professional role: Lead software engineer at Precision Optical Technologies
Current or prior elected office: None
Community involvement: Volunteer for the PKD Foundation and Reconnect Rochester
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
One of the most important issues facing Greece is aging infrastructure and the growing cost of deferred maintenance. Roads, sidewalks, stormwater systems, sewers and other essential infrastructure don't last forever. When we wait until something fails before addressing it, residents ultimately pay more. I have spoken to many residents who experience repeated flooding during heavy rainstorms, some of whom have had to pay for mold remediation.
If elected I would push for a more proactive, long-term approach. That means identifying infrastructure needs before they become emergencies, prioritizing projects based on condition and risk, developing clear multi-year plans, and aggressively pursuing outside funding wherever possible. I also believe residents should be able to easily see what projects are planned, what they cost and where they stand.
As an engineer, my approach is to identify problems early, use data to understand them, and build practical solutions before they become more expensive. I would bring that same mindset to the Town Council.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
I bring a different perspective to local government. As a professional software engineer I have spent my career solving complicated problems, managing projects and teams, working within constraints and finding practical ways to deliver results.
I would bring that problem-solving mindset to the Town Council. I want Greece to make better use of technology, make information easier for residents to access, plan more proactively for infrastructure needs and ensure taxpayer dollars are being used effectively. I also believe representation means being accessible and engaged with the people you serve. Throughout this campaign, I have spent my time talking directly with residents across Ward 2, listening to their concerns and learning where town government can do better.
I am running to bring a fresh perspective, an engineer's approach to problem-solving, and a strong commitment to serving residents.
Greece Town Board, Ward 3
Megan Ferra, R, C

Age: 48
Residence: Greece
Family: Husband and eight children
Current professional role: Small business owner of Ferra's Furniture Service and Repair
Current or prior elected office: Former Greece Board of Education member
Community involvement: Serve as an ambassador on the board of the Greece Chamber of Commerce and on several community and veterans' committees. PTSA secretary at Greece Olympia. Volunteer for Greece youth sports and organized a Community First and Conversations Cleanup Project for the Dewey Avenue corridor.
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
The most important issue for Ward 3 is responsible town spending and the resulting tax burden on residents, together with everyday quality‑of‑life needs like infrastructure and public safety.
If elected to the Town Council, I will conduct a line‑by‑line budget review to pause non-essential spending and fully fund safety and infrastructure priorities so taxpayers get better value for their dollars. Safety priorities include establishing a liaison officer assigned specifically to Ward 3 to ensure consistent patrols, faster response times, and stronger officer‑resident relationships. Infrastructure priorities would focus on stormwater and sewer projects to reduce property flooding and create a multi‑year sidewalk repair plan. Both priorities directly address Ward 3 residents’ quality-of-life concerns and would be supported by regular town hall meetings with residents.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
I was born, raised, and live in the Greece Third Ward. I know this ward, and my campaign puts our people and taxpayers first. I will bring local roots, fiscal discipline, and practical solutions to the everyday issues that matter most to our residents: Safety and quality of life. This isn’t a step on the political ladder for me. I have invested years of volunteer service in this community. My husband and I have a business here, and we’re raising our family here, third generation in the Town of Greece in Ward 3. I’m running for Ward 3 Town Council because this is, and has been, my home.
Amorette Miller, D, WF (incumbent)

Age: 48
Residence: Greece
Family: One son
Current professional role: Human resources director for the Town of Penfield
Current or prior elected office: Current Greece Town Board member, Ward 3
Community involvement: Greece Democratic Committee Chairwoman, worker's rights advocate
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
The most important issue facing Greece residents in the 3rd Ward is the rising cost of daily living ― everything from gas prices to groceries to utilities. It is more important than ever that residents know that their tax dollars are being wisely spent, and that is why I will continue to focus on eliminating wasteful spending, ensuring 3rd Ward residents get their fair share of services, and pursuing ways to save residents money. In my first year of office, I voted to withdraw health insurance benefits for the former Deputy Supervisor who pled guilty to a felony, advocated for the reopening of Barnard Park, and am working on a pilot program to institute refuse districts to save homeowners money on their garbage collection.
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
I believe that I have proven in my first year in office that I have been effective in getting Greece back on track. Supervisor Jeff McCann appointed me as Deputy Supervisor, and together, we are making town government work better for the people we serve.
Advocating for working people has been a constant throughout my career. I have helped hundreds of constituents of all ages and backgrounds access town government, worked with Greece neighborhood and community associations to solve problems, and opened Town Hall to the people it belongs to — the residents. I’m accessible.
I serve as a municipal human resources director, with a career spanning local government, public and higher education, civil service, and organized labor. This broad experience has given me a firsthand understanding of how government operates, how we support the people who do the work, and how public institutions can better serve the communities that depend on them.
Also, I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) at Long Island University, further strengthening my foundation of leadership and public service.
Greece Town Board, Ward 4
Rick Antelli Jr., R, C (incumbent)

Age: 36
Residence: Greece
Family: Wife and one son
Current professional role: Finance director for the 7th Judicial District
Current or prior elected office: Current Greece Town Board member, Ward 4
Community involvement: Former Lake Shore Fire commissioner. Also served on the Town of Greece Planning Board and the board of directors for the Greece Historical Society. Volunteer with Greece Rotary, Pirate Toy Fund, student mentorship and really whatever else I can help out with in my community.
What is the most important issue facing residents in the community you hope to represent, and what would you do about it if elected?
I would say the most important issues I face as the 4th Ward Councilman in the Town of Greece are:
- Flooding
- Roads
- Public safety
- Common-sense development in the town
When speaking with residents, these are the common themes I hear most often. To address these concerns, the current administration and I have been working with residents to identify their needs and find practical solutions.
During periods of flooding, we have provided pumps to high-risk areas to help address flooding concerns. We have also been reallocating funds within the budget to address road conditions while looking for grant opportunities to further support these efforts.
Public safety is always a top priority. I believe the current administration has taken meaningful steps to address public safety concerns, including voting to add additional police coverage at our mall at no additional cost to taxpayers. We have also worked to respond to residents’ concerns about speeding and other neighborhood safety issues.
Lastly, I support common-sense development in the town. We need to listen to residents, understand what they want to see in their community, and then work together to achieve those goals in a responsible way.
I pride myself on being transparent and accessible to the residents I represent. Residents should be able to reach their elected representatives, ask questions, and expect a response. I believe that working as a team with our community will always produce the best results.
