President Donald Trump is scheduled to headline a midterm election rally in Syracuse on Friday, according to an event listing published by the Republican Party.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 9. Organizers say doors will open at 3 p.m. EDT, the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Trump's remarks are expected to start at 7 p.m.
A venue had not been announced as of Wednesday on the event page.
What is expected at the rally
While organizers have released only a limited schedule, Trump is expected to use the event to rally supporters and campaign on behalf of Republican candidates ahead of the November midterm elections.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is also expected to attend the event, according to published reports. Blakeman has emerged as one of Trump's most prominent
political allies in New York and has frequently appeared alongside the president at campaign events.
The Syracuse stop comes as political campaigns intensify across New York and other states in the final weeks before voters head to the polls. Similar Trump rallies have typically featured remarks focused on national political issues, the economy, immigration and election-related messaging.
Organizers have not released additional details about speakers, security procedures or attendance expectations.
