A new Wayne County bakery is open for business.
Marion Bake Shoppe opened on 4071 North Main St. in Marion on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The grab-and-go style bakery sells a variety of cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, biscotti and more. Customers can also order Marion Bake Shoppe's custom cookie cakes for special occasions.
The bakery is owned by Kristen Palmer, making her a third generation business owner. Her father and grandfather ran Marion Service Center for over 60 years. Her bakery's location is in the same building Tim's Auto Body used to be, a business her uncle owned for 30 years.
“Growing up in a family of small business owners gave me a lot of respect and admiration for the hard work that
these people put in every single day,” Palmer said. “It made me want to do the same thing one day – and now I am doing just that.”
Marion Bake Shoppe is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Updates about the bakery's promotions and specials are available on Marion Bake Shoppe's Facebook and Instagram.
