A man believed to be in his 60s was fatally shot Sunday afternoon in the backyard of a vacant home on Hague Street in Rochester, police said.
Rochester police responded at about 2:15 p.m. to the 300 block of Hague Street for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they were directed to the backyard of a vacant residence at 371 Hague St., where they found a man lying in the grass in the rear portion of the property.
Police said the man had been shot at least once in the torso and died from his injuries.
Rochester police investigating homicide
The victim's identity has not been determined. Detectives are working to identify him.
The Rochester Police Department's Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigating.
