Maria's Authentic Mexican Restaurant will close in its current location at 75 W. Main Street in Webster after 46 years, the restaurant announced on social media.
Changes are being made to its building, the post said, and the plans do not include the restaurant. Maria's is looking for a new location.
Its space is tucked away in the basement of a former church school, with the entrance facing away from the street. Inside, you'll find a colorful, festive restaurant that's accented with Mexican tchotchkes. It's popular for its scratch-made Mexican fare and its margaritas.
Jesus Duarte opened the restaurant in 1980 and it continues to be family owned. It will close in its current location in early 2027.
"As one chapter closes, we are hoping this new
chapter will be just as memorable as the last," the post said.
