New York State Police arrested a man Monday after he allegedly punched and broke the rear window of a Lyft vehicle in the town of Union.

Troopers responded to Glendale Drive at about 5:08 p.m. Aug. 10 for a report of criminal mischief.

According to state police, the man became upset with the Lyft driver while riding in a 2021 Honda Pilot. He allegedly exited the vehicle and punched the rear window, causing it to break.

Arrest made on Glendale Drive

Troopers located the man at an apartment on Glendale Drive and arrested him on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He was processed at the State Police barracks in Endwell and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Union Town Court on Aug. 25.
