There is a chill in the air, but Section V football season is heating up.
Week 4 features plenty of potential playoff previews that could help shape the postseason picture.

Section V football predictions, Week 4
Matchup No. 1: Webster Schroeder at Victor
Webster Schroeder 14, Victor 7: These two teams have a pair of shutouts between them, as Victor blanked Spencerport Week 2 while Schroeder did the same to Penfield last week. Kalin Watkins and JJ Dyer are both coming off strong games for the Warriors, and should do enough to push Schroeder to its third straight win.
Matchup No. 2: Irondequoit at Hilton
Hilton 28, Irondequoit 14: The Cadets push their way to a 4-0 start and move Rich Lipani into a tie
for first-place on the Section V Football all-time coaches win list. Hilton senior running back Tyler Reger is back to picking up first downs as a ballcarrier, after catching two touchdown passes among four catches for 102 yards last week. Hilton senior quarterback Matthew Kosiorek is the difference-maker, as his running adds another road to yards defenses must worry about closing.
Matchup No. 3: Brockport at Eastridge
Eastridge 29, Brockport 21: Potential Class A2 playoff preview will help identify where both teams stand in a wide-open classification. Eastridge followed its Week 2 loss to Honeoye Falls-Lima with a get-right win at Batavia. Look for the Lancers, led by senior duo Brailon Johnson and Justin Weathers, to continue their momentum against Brockport, which fell to Canandaigua last week. Brockport won this matchup, 12-7, a year ago.
